Electronics Need help wiring something up? Thinking of adding an electrical component to your car? Need help troubleshooting that wiring glitch?

A sensor on the block, passenger side between plugs. What is it?

A sensor on the block, passenger side between plugs. What is it?

Is it a temp switch? Its obviously been broken off the block for a long time. Maybe thats why I had to hard wire my fan? Its a 91 fb 305 tbi. Thanks

it definately is a temp sender not a switch

Engine: 305 tbi,lots of work done
Transmission: 700-r4 built by level 10 in nj
Axle/Gears: 3.73, auburn , precision
fan temp switch, disconnected mine so i could wire my fan so its on all the time.........other wise with it connected when the temp got to a certain degree it would turn my fan off since it was allready on............91 305 tbi bird

Hypertech makes a lower setting fan switch, I think its 170 degrees. I just wasted 35 bucks on a new gm switch and connector.
