Having trouble!!!

Hey all!! I was driving my Camaro around the other day, and all of a sudden the Battery/Alternator light came on. It DID NOT stay on for long (maybe two-three minutes). Yesturday, I was driving it and the same thing happened. I checked the terminals, Alt wires, battery cables and the belts. All seemed to be checking out ok. I did notice that two of the cells in the battery were low. Oh I have had no problems starting it. The light comes on as I am driving along. The car has not stalled either. Any comments and /or suggestions as to what this might be would be greatly appretiated. THANX!!!!!!!!!!!! GO #44!!!!

Usually the Alt/Batt light comes on when the alternator is not charging. It is turned on by a solid state circuit inside the voltage regulator in the alternator. The alternator is saying it's time to replace.
