85 Z-28 305 V-8 when you turn the key on the carb tick and doesn't stop till you turn the key off. Car has set for 4 years I got it cheep, Did not run got it fixed,bad wires. She was running good then bad weather came so it set for 3 weeks. Now it won't start carb ticks, tack is now pegged out, plugs gas fouled. What do you think.

 

The carb is supposed to tick. It's the mixture control solenoid cycling. Hang out on the carbs board and check the FAQ and tech articles to find out how to tune it.

 

the tick is normal. i would say just check out the minor stuff and work your way up, check if the plugs are gettin spark and go from there. 3rd gens, and mine as well, hate sittin around even though they like to break down all the time.
