85 gauge set into an 84 need wire diagrams
I am placing a set of 85 guages into my 84 trans am. Someone said that the wireing is different and I will have to rewire the dash to make it work. Can someone email or post diegrams for 84 and 85 dashes? Also I hered the speedo's after 84 were electrical and mine is mechanical how do I change that over. Thanks for the help.

I don't think there's a difference in wiring, but I'm not sure. Firebirds didn't get electronics speedometers until 1986.

So if I get an 85 cluster then the speedo is cable driven just like the one I have or does it have different teeth or spin at a different rate? Does anyone have a diagram so that I can see if the wireing is the same?
