Asking?

How about a ballpark figure of what you're looking to get for the block? Makes it a little easier for someone having to account for shipping cost. I'm in need of this block since I already have a stoker kit for a 60 over block sitting here. Let me know.
Thanks
Tim

Hey Tim,

I was looking to get $350 for the block, GM rods and crank. Just for the block, I would like to get $300. I have $525 in it just sitting on my stand (paid $200 for an unfinished block and $325 in final machining - have receipts too).

Thanks!
Mike

Block

I have a #010 block as well it is a incredible peice of equipment you do know that it is forged not cast don't you. The machine shop I took it to tried to tell me that it was worthless and they would junk it for me. Fortunately I got a second opinion and found out what I really had mine is a 4 bolt yours looks to be a 2 bolt. I would keep it if I were you but if you still have it I am getting in line.

Yes the 010 blocks have the have the high nickel content in them and they are a good piece to build a small block. I have a 4-bolt 010 in my drag car and it is all fresh so reason I do not need another one sitting around. Also, I need the money right now as we are expecting twins in November.

The machine shop sounded like he wanted a freebie....

Yes, mine is a 2-bolt main. I had the crankshaft journals honed and put ARP main bolts in it for some added insurance.

It is for sale if you want it. I can always get another down the road if I need one.

Thanks!

Hey Mike,

Can you get an estimate on shipping to 36695? I'm currently overseas but my car (that I bought on here in Feb. while stationed here) and stroker kit are at my brother's (above zip code). Let me know since I could really use this.
Thanks,
Tim

Hey Tim,

I checked with Old Dominion and I picked up an online price of $212. They are much cheaper then UPS or Fed Ex. That is to residential address and the requirement of a lift gate. Does your brother have a business address I could send it to? It will save $50. I would have to drive it to Old Dominion in Tampa but I work there so that's not a big deal. I will check on the need of a lift gate as well because two people can pick it up. That will save a little more on the cost.

I would wrap up the block and attach it to a pallet so it doesnt go anywhere. I will also attach a copy of the receipt for the machine work to show you what was done.

I also need to double check the Class of the shipment becuase that changes as well. Want to make sure before you commit yourelf. I will post back up with more info once I check on it. Should be later today or tomorrow.

Thanks!
Mike

Thanks Mike,

I will check with my brother, he is a Police Officer in Mobile. I'm not sure if they have somewhere for deliveries but he may have a friend that could receive it for me and he has a full size chevy truck to pick it up. Let me know what you find out. I would be very happy with $500.00 total it that can be arranged. He can have a buddy help him so I don't think a liftgate would be neccesary either. Let me know..thanks again.

Tim,

Sounds good...try and find out for me if we can go commercial so I can save you a few bucks. I will look into it later today the proper class code to ship the block and get back with you. Sounds like we have a deal, we just need to get some of the fine details worked out. I will also call Old Dominion on Monday to see what I need to do, etc. to make an easy delivery. Talk to you later today.

Thanks!
