Transmission: Caged hamster that runs really fast
Axle/Gears: They are round, I know that much
Small Block 355 lots of goodies $2k obo
I am selling the engine out of my 91 Z28 to build something a little bigger and more powerful for it. The engine I am selling I built almost a year and a half ago and it has been running ever since, last winter I would start it up ever week and let it run for a few in the garage.
It is still in the car and still runs so if anyone want to here it they are more than welcome to, I am selling it with everything EXCEPT distributor. The engine has somewhere in the area of 800-1000 (probably less than 800, but thats a safe estimate) miles on it, and I have taken it on a 100 mile round trip and had no problems out of it.
Now for the good stuff:
355 Small Block
89 Chevy truck block 4 bolt mains, bored .030 over
Holley Double Pumper 650, blocked off power valves, rebuilt, no leaks, 73/82 jetting
GM (I beleive it was X-rods) Rods, shot peened, balanced, and bushed
Stock crank cut 10 under
All new rod and main bearing, IROC brand
Edlebrock Air Gap RPM high rise intake manifold
Hardened push rods and guide plates
Crane Roller rockers 1.5 ratio (the silver ones)
GM iron heads, 2.02/1.60 fuelie heads, mild port/polish, screw in rocker studs
Speedpro Hyperutechtic (sp?) skirt coated dome pistons
Speedpro Rings (cromoly top, steel second and oil rings)
Roughly 11.0 - 11.5:1 compression (the pistons give 10.8:1 on 64 cc head, the heads are almost 62cc)
M/T Finned valve covers (old style)
Stock oil pain
Melling high flow oil pump, gives a bit more pressure but it is a volume pump
Steel collar oil pump shaft, welded pickup
Crane Cams engergizer series cam
Here are the specs:
Energizer 3/4 Race Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshaft & Lifter Kit
Lift: .500''/.500''
Duration: 302°/302°
RPM Range: 3400-7000
270-100112
Grind Number: 302 H06
Operating Range: 3400-7000 RPM
Duration Advertised: 302° Intake / 302° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 246° Intake / 246° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.5 Rockers: .500'' Intake / .500'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 106°
Max Lift Angle: 102° ATDC Intake / 110° BTDC Exhaust
Open/Close @.050'' Cam Lift: Intake - 21° BTDC (opens) / 45° ABDC (closes)
Exhaust - 53° BBDC (opens) / 13° ATDC (closes)
Stock serpentine water pump, alternator, and power steering pump (includes gear box and cooler line)
Stock GM starter off the powerglide cars (more windings so it has more turning power)
Hooker Comp Shortie Headers with Hooker 2.5" y-pipe (pipe cost $200 I think), made specifically for a third gen Camaro or Bird
Has had 3 oil changes in its life already, I only used Valvoline VR-1 Racing oil 20W-50 and Fram filters, and a quart of Lucas each change. NEVER overheated, not even once.
It, again, is still in the car if anyone wants to hear it or go for a ride. I have it in front of a 3000k stall converter with a TH350 manual v/b trans, the cars best is a 13.78 @ 104 this past July, on street tires with the tires spinning all thru first and into second.....never had slicks on the car.
I am asking $2000 obo for this engine w/ exhaust, if you dont need the exhaust I will take some off. I do not need to sell it so if I don't get a reasonable offer I will just hold on to it.
Open to trades, looking for a virgin big block 454, and/or 460 big block parts, nitrous cam for a big block......anything for a 454 Chevy big block.......and no it has nothing to do with my car
If anyone is interested and wants to stop by and hear it run or go for a ride respond here on Thirdgen, pm me, or call my cell at 773-844-9749
Thanks
Mike
