Feeler - WTS T-5 from '91 RS
Feeler - WTS T-5 from '91 RS
I have a T-5 from a 1991 RS Camaro, that I am considering selling and am looking to get an idea of what it is worth to some of you guys.
The transmission was professionally rebuilt and then I put around 2.5-4k miles on that rebuild when some idiot pulled out in front me and the car was totaled. The car has been sitting for about 5 years now (but I don't see why the tranny would not still be just fine).
I am asking because like I said the tranny is still in the car and I want to see if it really is worth the trouble of pulling it out. From searches on here and other sites I see that good working T-5's go for about $300-$400 and this is what I would like to get for it. This tranny was professionally rebuilt and has just been sitting so all it should need is a fluid change and a new home in your car. I have the bellhousing and stock flywheel that goes with this trans as well and will be included in the sale.
Thanks for looking! I am located in central Texas about 30 miles north of Austin.

There should be a metal tag on the trans - you can enter it in here and it will tell you:
http://www.5speeds.com/t5/
Easiest way to tell though is if it has a timkin bearing on the front of the casing - that site has pictures of the differences.

Thanks for the link, from what I read there I would say that the transmission I have is most likely world class, but I don't know for sure, the transmission is in the car which is out at my dad's place, so I can't just walk outside crawl under the car and get that information right away, but I will get it within the week.

If you know for sure it's the original trans, and it is in a 91 V8 car - then it is a World Class T5.
Re: Feeler - WTS T-5 from '91 RS
Right now I am only selling the trans, bell housing, and flywheel. However, I do not need the pedals, clutch or hydraulics and would be willing to sell those as well but the price will go up because that is more work I have to do to pull everything out of the car. However, I would be willing to sell the whole setup for $550 plus shipping. If the trans sells separately (with just bellhousing and flywheel included) I would be willing to work a deal with anyone interested in purchasing the clutch, pedals and hydraulics.

If you still have the pedals and mounting bracket, I need them for my project. PM if you're interested in pulling them out and selling them. Thanks!
