LS1/GTO T56 - built

Up for sale is a custom blue printed T56 built for the LS1 F-body (Camaro/Firebird 1998 to 2002). This very special T56 is probably the only one in existence. It combines the best and strongest features of all T56s to create the ultimate hybrid T56. The result is a torque rating in the 700 ft/lb range! You will not get this level of performance from the big T56 shops that sell lesser transmissions for way more than what you can have this one for.

Here are some of the main features that make this T56 so special:

* Improved gear ratios which increase strength. These gear ratios are the same as the Viper T56:

1st-2.66:1
2nd-1.77:1
3rd-1.30:1
4th-1.00:1
5th-0.74:1
6th-0.50:1
REV-2.90:1

*Combination of double-cone and triple-cone synchronizers on all forward gears. (taken from the C5 corvette T56). This modification is a great improvement to the standard T56. These synchros are the same as the GTO T56 and dramatically increase strength and durability while creating a crisp, firm shift.

* carbon fiber blocker rings

* Billet Steel synchro keys on 1-2 gear and also 3-4 gear. Broken stock stamped steel synchros are a major reason for failure under high horsepower applications.

* Steel 3-4 shift fork as found on viper T56s. The stock aluminum 3-4 shift fork will commonly bend under high horsepower applications.

* Brand New mainshaft

This is a high quality rebuild with the highest level of attention to detail. Here are the main shimming specs that were used for a performance rebuild:

Main shaft: 0.002" Preload
Counter shaft: 0.003" Preload
Counter shaft extension: 0.002" End-Play

Case and all parts were cleaned and inspected. The case was not sand blasted to keep grit out of the internals.

For detailed pictures of the build, please contact and they will be Emailed to you.

Local pickup is preferred (ZIP 19711), but will work with buyer on shipping if needed.

Can be used with an adaptor plate for older Muncie/T5/etc clutch/bellhousing setups. http://www.thegearbox.org/catalog/it...17/4803441.htm
