Re: aluminum 113 heads
i assume they were not redone, magnafluxed ect?? id give you $250 shipped. it would take about $250-$300 of work to clean them up, nobody puts 85k mile heads on there car without getting them redone first.

Re: aluminum 113 heads
i gotta say 400-450 shipped is fair honestly they are only about $30 to ship and any 113 set of heads w/o damage is worth about $350-400 short of any damage and machine work redoing a set of heads can be done yourself for about $250 including new valves/springs/locks,retainers and seals and thats using good parts

Re: aluminum 113 heads
On ZZ series crate mtrs #113 heads come with non-harden guide plates along with self aligning rockers. They really don't act as guide plates at all.
Posted as set of #113's off my low mileage ZZ3, for $650. They had some machine work such as a nice radius valve job and the valves were undercut more than what Chevy does to them, the intakes were pocket ported, new seals that go on top of the guides along with "o" ring type seals for the intakes, Isky springs, machined steel retainers, and correct harden guide plates for use non-self aligning roller tip rockers. The reason for selling them was that the chambers cc'd at 56 and the static compression was going to be a little high at 10.5:1. There was some interest and probably if I bothered to post some pics, they would of moved, but decided to bolt them on and see what happens.

Re: aluminum 113 heads
for $650 thats a great price, Id bet those would have sold within 3 days, the 113 heads I sold had non hardened guide plates but they are still guide plates,,, never use SA rockers and guides plates, the only difference with hardened guide plates is you need hardened pushrods.
Re: aluminum 113 heads
The non harden guide plates that come with the #113's have a wider slot, than normal. That why they are really not considered guide plates at all. They just like of hold the push rod in place in case some thing fails in the valve train.
Believe your right about using harden push rods along with guide plates.

Sometimes I get a kick out of "arguing". So please let me know where that has taken place in this thread. (?)
