The engine for sale is a 388 (its bored .040 instead of .030 like 383s). It's based on a pre-86 block with a two piece rear main seal and two bolt mains. The mains are studded with ARP studs. The crank is an Eagle unit with 3.750" stroke. Rods are Eagle H-beams and pistons are Keith Black hypers. The compression is 10.25 and it runs great on premium. There is a billet Romac balancer on the crank. The whole assembly was professionally balanced.

We used Vortec heads on this motor but had 2.02/1.60 stainless valves installed. The valve guides have been machined for at least .550" valve lift clearance. Stock self-aligning rockers actuate the valves.

The intake is an Edelbrock Air Gap, the real thing not a Chinese knockoff, and the carb is a Holley 750 with electric choke. It has an aftermarket HEI distributor and MSD wires.

The Proform valve covers and air cleaner go with the engine and so do the accessories. It also comes with a $200 gear reduction starter.

The motor runs great and we have not had any problems with it. the only reason we are selling is that we're going to try an LS1 swap. It has pushed this 3400 pound Camaro to 13.40s at 104mph but that was before the valve upgrade so it probably makes a little bit more power now.

This would be a great deal for someone who has a V6 and wants to step up to a V8. The Hooker headers are included and custom y-pipe is too.

Price is $17 00 and I can ship anywhere for a $50 crating fee plus the actual shipping amount. I'll be pulling it this weekend so I can ship as early as Monday or Tuesday.

Im actually doing this for a friend, and Im helping with the project. ANd I think he would rather do the deal in person. Not 100% sure on that.

It does include acc and starter.
