lifter spun sideways in the bore. The engine is being rebuilt now.

what let the lifter turn sideways?

I heard of this happening but never seen of spoke to anyone how had the bumper of event happen to them. The first time I heard about this wasa from Blairs speed shop in pasadena ca. the new hot rod mag (april 09) has a little article on them on page 18.

sorry you had it happen to you, really like the way you are able to give us all a little humor. I remember being feeling sick when I though I damaged my 406, turned out the cam went flat....whea...so I was glad that's all it was.

LOL ship it ill throw it in my scrap metal bin and git someting out of it....

 

currently its in a cardboard poster tube in my storage garage. Should make a nice conversation piece some day
