Re: Camaro / Firebird T5 V8 bellhousing ceramic coated
I'd rather pay $50 for a nasty one and clean it up. Ceremic coating doesn't do much for me on a bellhousing. A $50 one also does the same thing as one 2 1/2 time the price.
Try Ebay, this type of thing is like a gold when it is veiwed by a larger audience.
I realize this isn't anything you probably want to hear, but most guys running a T5 are on a budget.....that is why they are running a T5.

we if you did some research on what ceramic coating will do ..maybe you would think different..Then again maybe not...but you know what opinions are like....And also t5's are not just for budget builds.

Agreed about the opinions.
The bellhousing isn't exactly where the problems arise in a T5 setup though.
Sorry for the derail......good luck on your sale.

Re: Camaro / Firebird T5 V8 bellhousing ceramic coated
All right. I wasn't going to try and keep posting in here, but you know what.....
A T5 isn't weak because it's 20 years old, improperly rebuilt, or just because a person doesn't know what they are doing. The T5 is weak because it was NEVER meant to be extremely strong. Therefore the housing itself wasn't/isn't made to handle the stress off high torque/HP numbers. Doesn't really matter what you do to them internally, they will still allow flex within the housing/case which in turn causes problems. Sure, you can make them 'stronger' with better internals, but to imply that they are weak only because of the person working on them is unqualified or the age of the trans is BS.
Also, I understand exactly what ceramic coating does. I just think there are some things that don't need ceramic coating. If you think your "Heavy Duty" bellhousing isn't going to break over one that did simply because it was ceramic coated well........
The only reason I posted in here is because you started this ad on the 15th(2 days ago) and bumped it 3 times in less than 2 days with an impatient comment about how people pay "100 + for old nasty ones" so I figured I'd chime in. Maybe some do pay $100 for "old nasty ones", but MOST people don't.
I really had no intention in derailing your entire thread, but don't treat everyone like they are all retards because your part hasn't sold in 2 days.
I assure you I am done posting in this thread.

Re: Camaro / Firebird T5 V8 bellhousing ceramic coated
First off I NEVER said it made it stronger with the ceramic coating. And I dont care what trans or part is is if you beat it enough it will break.
Second, This isnt the first time I have had this listed on here.
Third, This is why I stoped posting on here because guys like yourself have nothing better to do with your time then to **** with peoples threads just to start **** because your a cheap *** and want everything for nothing.
ANd last I never implyed any one was a retard as you are implying as to me as I know nothing and you are the king of know all
If you click on a thread and in your opinion its not what you want to see price or part you want to derail, hijack what ever you want to call it

Re: Camaro / Firebird T5 V8 bellhousing ceramic coated
zippinz, not trying to be a d*ck, i'm just curious and still learning, and maybe an explanation like this will help you sell it: what does ceramic coating a bellhousing actually do? i know the coating is used to keep high temperature inside or outside of something like exhaust ports or turbine parts, but i can't see the use of a coated bellhousing.
if you care to explain, thank you in advance

Re: Camaro / Firebird T5 V8 bellhousing ceramic coated
Ceramic is mainly for the heat keeping temps down and also for appearance. In my opinion is there a big performance advantage doing a bell housing not really I did it because that's what I wanted.
