Is this motor an original 355 block, rebuilt with the above mentioned parts, and since the rebuild it has 2500 miles on it? Also was this attached to an automatic or a manual tranny?

 

a 355 is more or less a 350 block bored .030 over.

For my build, a 350 was machined .030 over and assembled, the heads were machined and assembled and the engine was put together and installed in my 86 Monte Carlo SS.

The car was rotting around itself so shortly after the engine was put in I decided to pull it out and put it into an IROC-Z. Being out of work that plan fell through and now I've decided to part with it.

So since original assembly there are 2500 miles on the engine.

and I ran a fully built 700r4, but this engine will also bolt to a t5. I know people with similarly built 355's that use the World Class T5

 

Yeah, I've got the stock T5 in my 89 IROC. Do I need to change the flexplate or change something down there to adapt to a manual transmission or will it, like you said, bolt right up, no changes? I've never done an engine swap before, just trying to get my ducks in a row before I do anything. And you wouldn't happen to have any power numbers on this engine would you, HP and TQ? Thanks for the info.

 

you would use the flexplate and stuff off your current motor. otherwise no changes. same mounts, bolt pattern, etc

and if your running tpi already its even easier. just plug and play.

Nope, I've got the so totally awesome LO3 TBI!!!

But, since you're also including the harness and computer that run this motor, then it will still be easy. All I have to do is pull out my old harness and run the new one. I'll get back to you here in the near future. Got to do some planning and thinking first. Thanks for your help.

I haven't forgotten about you. Just gotta get the money in line. I am really wanting to get this motor, but I'll need to get the tools, rebuild my tranny, my stock 3.08 rear should work for now, etc... I'll keep you informed.
