Built 350 short block
This is going to be a long one! I am selling the 4 bolt main 350 SBC short block that I used to have in my Chevelle. I never thought I would sell it, but I will if someone is interested. This thing ran great even though I didn't have it in the car very long. I sold the car a few years ago when I got divorced, but kept the engine and transmission. Here is everything about it that I can think of:
'69-'80 4 bolt main block casting number 3970010 that has been bored 0.030 which makes it 355ci
ARP main studs
SpeedPro L2256-030 Forged flat top pressed pin standard ring pack (5/64-5/64-3/16) pistons
Chrome moly rings
Stock rods - resized - I believe I polished the beams and installed SPS rod bolts
Cast crank turned 10/10
all new Clevite bearings - rods, mains, cam
Brass freeze plugs
Double roller timing chain - can't remember the brand
chrome timing cover
Cam bolt retainer plate
Hydraulic camshaft similar to Comp Cams 280H - I don't remember the specifics exactly - I probably still have the cam card around somewhere
new hydraulic lifters
stock pushrods
HV anti-cavitation oil pump & pinned oil pump drive shaft
Stock oil pan with 1 piece oil pan gasket, oil pan studs & chrome dipstick
water jacket pet ***** on each side of block
Plugged lifter valley drainback holes
I will also include the starter, waterpump (long style), flexplate, balancer, intake manifold splash shield, nylon flex fan with spacer & stock valve covers with spreaders!
Basically the whole engine except for the heads & intake/carb set-up. As you can tell I had a lot invested in this thing. I am thinking $800 is a fair price for all of this, but I am open to offers. Pick-up only. PayPal or cash in hand. Located in Deltona, FL. Pics available. I will consider shipping if needed.
I also have a blue-printed HEI distributor w/ 50,000 volt coil that I used with the engine that is for sale. And a set of roller tip rocker arms.

If someone is willing to give me $800 for it, I will throw in the rocker arms and distibutor with the deal. Just because I'm such a nice guy!

No heads. It's a short block. It just needs heads, intake and carb to be a complete engine.

Re: Built 350 short block
Well, I have a local guy interested. If he doesn't take it, I will get a quote for you. I'm thinking maybe around $200. I checked with UPS on the LS1 long block that I have, but they wanted like $750! So, I am checking with freight companies now trying to find a more reasonable rate. I'll let you know if this other guy takes the engine or not.
Oh yeah, FWIW,that shipping quote from UPS was to NY, so it shouldn't be as bad going to NC

For a good shipping price, check out engineshipping.com. I'm getting my motor shipped from FL to PA for $199. Btw, why are 350 motors going so cheap rite now?!?! I know the economy is bad rite now, but when we gotta give away REBUILT motors, wth? Glws.

Re: Built 350 short block
I recently had a trans shipped from Florida to WV using yellowfreight. They were pretty reasonable and have a great tracking system. Please keep this too the top. If no one buys it, I might be interested.

Re: Built 350 short block
excellent tip. Thanks man! I'll give them a try.
Yeah, I don't know why they are going for so cheap right now. I thought people would jump all over this at $800, but I had to drop it to $600 to get some interest going. Oh well. Thanks again

oh wow, Alaska huh? I'm sure that's going to be pricey. I will check for you. The engine has less than 500 miles on it.

Sorry Clean92rs, I forgot to get you that quote. I've had too much going on here recently. Anyways, I just tried to get one from engineshipping.com, but it wouldn't give me one. I will have to call them about it. Probably because you are in Alaska. I'll let you know what I find out.

Glenndale, $245 from my house to your house. You can get a better shipping price if you have it delivered to a business or a terminal nearby. Let me know what you think.

Glenndale, Engineshipping.com said they could take off $30 if it's delivered to a business or to the terminal over there near you in Providence. He said that was about an hour from you. Just FYI

Re: Built 350 short block
Here are some pics:

Just so you guys know, there was a little surface rust on #7 cylinder wall,
So I hit it with some steel wool and oil. It's smooth now, but discolored. It could be fine as is, but whomever buys it may consider having that cylinder lightly honed just to be safe. I cleaned all of the cylinders because of that and re-oiled them just to be safe. I just want to be up front with you guys about it.
I also found the flexplate bolts and installed them.

Re: Built 350 short block
Here are a few more pics:

One more thing, I had the engine apart a few years ago because I was going to make it a 383, but decided against it. So what you see in the pictures isn't completely put together and ready to go. Everything would need to be torqued down properly & double checked since I don't remember how far I went with putting it back together. I know most of you guys would rather go through it yourselves, but I can do it for whomever is looking to buy it if necessary. It's no problem. I have been meaning to do it, but I just haven't had time.

Re: Built 350 short block
I also have a TPI intake set-up & TES headers available. So add heads and you could have a pretty complete engine for your third gen F-body.

Sorry, no. Shipping costs at least $200. You're welcome to come pick it up for that price though.
