This is to help out a member to change his stock tuning to 89 $6e tune , delete vats, and this will eliminate his 9th injector.

The moates g1 is a piggyback adapter it moves the eprom over so the ecm is reading that information instead of reprograming the eprom on the memcal.

It does but requires the blue memcal cover to be removed for clearance.

So in what cases would you need this thing and do you just leave it open without a cover ?

Re: reprogram Tpi Maf memcal service

The moates g1 is a piggyback adapter so if you ever wanted to revert back to stock programing you remove it. The memcal access cover will still go back on the ecm with the moates adapter. I can even unsolder your stock chip and install one of the dip adapters so the eprom can be easily removed.Name: IMG_0440.jpg

Re: reprogram Tpi Maf memcal service

Pretty cool stuff and intricate soldering..........that in itself is not easy.

Then there is the programming...............

50 bucks include the adapter and eprom ?

You still need the factory one sent to you ?

Re: reprogram Tpi Maf memcal service

I havent updated my flyer but it is just the cost of the dip so a extra $2.00 and no charge for me to solder it in on your memcal. The $50 I would send you a chip to put in the adapter you would need to purchase at moates.net and the $65 would be if you sent me your memcal in and I reprogram the chip on it.

Re: reprogram Tpi Maf memcal service

The dip socket shown in post 11 I do solder those in it is a moates d2. The stock eprom is soldered in as well. The eproms I use are like the stock eprom and are called uv erasable I also have eeprom that are flash proms a newer technology so if you ever wanted to reprogram the chip you could purchase moates.net burn 2. I just charge the cost of those chips $5 the uv erasable ones are very inexpensive so I include them if you have me install a dip socket.

Re: reprogram Tpi Maf memcal service

No problem I assume you mean post #5 picture it has male pins that connect into your factory memcal and the green board will go into the memcal holder in the ecm.
This link shows the installation in detail.

Re: reprogram Tpi Maf memcal service

I do have one last option That may make things easier. I have memcals that I could prepare and would be replacements for yours if you buy two I would lower the price to 100 shipped. I start out with 3.1L v6 and modify them to work for tuned port. They are fully functional but the limp home mode is not as good as a real tpi v8. These are bench tested and I stand behind my work if you are unsatisfied I will try to correct the situation or give a full refund.
