Hey guys,

Bought this to have a spare to rebuild when the T5 in my car gave out, but I bought a T56 instead. So this core is up for sale. Pictures available upon request.

It needs to be rebuilt, and the PO of the trans took the speedo drive gear. But the case is in good shape. The tag is 1352-157 so from an 86.

No shifter, bell housing, brackets etc, just the trans.

Im not sure i want to mess with shipping it yet...

Please explain by how you know it needs to be rebuilt.

 

Well, I got the trans it wasnt bolted up correctly, as the previous owner had pulled the speedo drive gear but never put the trans back together.

I took a peek inside before i tightened things up for storage. The bronze syncro rings are probably shot, and there was quite a bit of metal bits in the bottom around the magnet. I didnt inspect the gears closely, but nothing was blaring, it will go into every gear. And if I remember correctly, one of the keys was broken.

I had planned on rebuilding it myself, it seemed like the basic rebuild kit from thegearbox.org had what i needed in it.

With how close you are, come take a look, you can pull the cover/tail housing and look yourself.

 

And i have a number of a guy I have gotten my speedo gears from in the past i can pass on to you with the trans. If you need it
