Sorry these are the THICK gears for series 2 carrier. So if you have 2.73s these are direct replacement on that carrier.

They are Richmond gears, 99.9% of them make noise.

Re: Richmond 3.73 gears for series 2 carrier
I was meaning outside the norm for aftermarket gears.
these would be going in my s-10 as the current rear was overloaded so the housing is a tad bent and now my pinion has slight movement and im preparing incase the current gears are bad from the movement.im strongly thinking the bent housing is causing angle issues and vibrations which killed the current setup.
current setup is a 3 series carrier, spare housing is a 2 series.

How do you know which carrier you have? I have my stock rear in my 1985 305 700r4 TA, and I have 1 1999 firebird rear to go in someday. Would love these gears if they would fit and haven't been sold yet. Thanks for any help.

The pattern was great. I was there when my transmission guy set them up. The pattern was centered up correctly. They did not make any noise outside the norm for used gears. They look fine, only reason I pulled them was to swap in some 3.08s for my turbo car.
Stock carriers = gears used in them
Series 2 carrier = 2.73 - 3.08
Series 3 carrier = 3.23 - 4.56
