Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

Second thought. Can we get an admin to lock this and his other thread for the same item. Something is just odd about it seeing as how we have all offered every safe option for both buyer and seller, and yet he still sticks to a money order being his only option for paying for it. Which we all know could screw the buyer out of 200 dollars easy.

Yea, a pic of you yourself holding the receipt from Summit, your drivers license, and the Stealthram intake with the number 13X in yellow paint marker on the left side of the intake, in front of your local police station would be fine.

Damn, man, all anybody has asked is a little verification or your credibility. That's not sayng you are dishonest, or trying to rip anyone off.

It's just the way all this has went down makes it seem a little shady, (even if it is 100% legit).

Quit being a stubborn old fart and set yourself up a paypal account and you could have this sold within minutes. (I say stubborn old fart jokingly so don't get all wound up over that. I'm a yr older than you according to your profile here.)

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

I haven't seen anybody whining about not wanting to buy. I've only seen people trying to buy it and a seller unwilling to put forth any effort to sell. If you can't put forth enough effort to post your own pics, (that we can see full size), how can we trust you to take the effort to ship the intake??

I must have missed the reason for no paypal. Refresh our memory.

No Id verification yet. You say you've bought and sold on ebay. What's your ebay ID so we can look at your feedback there?
Oh, and btw, ebay requires payment through paypal as far as I know. Been that way for a couple years at least. So how have you been buying off ebay with money order payment?

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

Ok, no credit card is understandable. It's been a long time since I set up my paypal, so I don't know what it takes to do it now days. I can tell you I don't have a credit card either.
Who's the first person that wanted it? From this thread or the other one? (For clarification to everybody)

Who's junior? LOL I'm not teaming with anybody. I'd like to buy it myself, but there's others in front of me and I'd be a little pissed if somebody crowded in line and bought it out from under me, so I won't do that to somebody else.

I said before I'd buy it COD, but at this point that would be about the only way since distance prohibits a face to face sale.

Well senior,

I was just wondering when you bought yours from summit since you said you was going to buy the used one from here, then a month later you posted a for sale ad for one.

Did you have two? When did you buy yours from summit?

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

NO problems no hassles. The guy pm me before you.! I tried to get what people wanted,(pictures) ect they weren't good enough. several people bad mouth me and tried to acuse me of a scam tried to have my thread locked.I was just selling something. I told people why I had no paypal (no credit) People asked about cod I asked how cod worked. People also thought I was trying to buy another one from someone(this has nothing to do with my sale) but I was only trying to buy 30lb injectors from I guy in Canada.I offered to post my original receipt, photo drivers license, passport just gain some trust. The only thing I didn't give was my ebay id that's because the lasttime I tried it said invalid password, user id I tried to re regester but it said user id taken. I had lots of positive feedback i lost.I lost my whole ebay account. The member who bought it didnt hassle me and didnt try and get my thread locked. He pmd me.Maybe in the future try pm ing instead of trying to spread negative comments and trying to ruin my sales.hehe

You made alot of offers of buyer security, but came through on none.
I agree with Johnny, post who bought it. Whoever bought it should post in this thread and also keep everybody informed if they actually receive the intake.

Lucky hopefully not unlucky. I will pay for security on a transaction unless its from a member I have had a few dealings with and built up trust.

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

Blackroc, all I can say is look at the threads posted almost every day about people being taken on a sale. It makes people hesitant. They just want some type of assurance that if the deal goes bad they are protected. I can't blame them for that. If you want to buy or sell online, a Paypal account is almost necessary for protection of both parties. Glad it worked out for you.

There is no protection in a papal transaction. Ebay promotes PP and stands behind the deal not PP. I talked to PP directly and that's what they said. The only thing PP guarantees is the money will be transferred from the buyer to the seller

Not true at all...You can file a dispute within 90 days of a transaction, just like with a credit card, and Paypal will automatically credit your account while buyer/seller work it out and/or they investigate. I have been dealing with PayPal since about 1999. I have had to do it a couple of times, twice on ebay for receiving a grossly misrepresented product and recently on here when I sent a member money for lifters which he never sent. He hasn't even been on since I sent payment but I was able to recoup my costs. In the ebay cases, I was reimbursed fully for one, in the other, the seller and I worked out a deal. All of the cases I opened with PayPal though and were monitored by PayPal through resolution.

I've been following this thread, mostly for kicks b/c the seller's responses and comments I found amusing, and there's no way I'd send a seller like this a payment without using Paypal....

Your CC company isn't going to do jack for you either on a misrepresented item. Been down that road. Nobody's withdrawing funds from anybodys account

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

Not so sure about a misrepresented item, but I am positive about non receipt. I even had them reverse charges when my daughter ran up $1,000+ on Zynga games on facebook. I have a much stronger password now LOL. Bottom line is some level of protection is better than sending cash and hoping for the best.

Yes, yes they will. That's why you can dispute a transaction, been down that road myself. Not trying to derail this thread over the does, don'ts and how to's of seller/buyer protection, however, PayPal and/or your credit card company will offer you the protection needed for an online transaction. The other option is to use an online escrow service that holds the buyers payment until item is received and confirms it is what it was claimed to be, then forwards payment to seller. MoneyOrders, Moneygrams, etc, have ZERO buyer protection. Once money is sent, that's that.

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

Paypal claims to put a hold on the funds until the dispute is resolved. But seeing the money is available immediatly, the account could easily be drained before you receive the item.

The dispute, which could drag on forever, is no guarantee either. Seller could say, didn't look like that when I shipped it. etc

That is a possibility, which is why I always use my credit card as the payment option of choice, double coverage.
We could go back and forth all day on this I suppose...bottom line is, as a seller, accepting PayPal is a better way to offer buyer security.

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

and what did we all learn from this? cash talks BS walks!

If you wanted it so bad you should have paid up, when Im selling the first person with money gets it. You didnt trust him (condition of the HSR, needed pics), why should he trust that you'll actually send the money?

??? How does that make an ounce of sense?

The money is always sent first. Then the buyer trusts the seller will send the item.

Example;
I say I will send payment for such and such item, but fail to send it for what ever reason. What did the seller loose? Maybe a different potential buyer at the most.

Example 2;
I send a seller a payment for such and such item, seller receives the $ and doesn't send the item for whatever reason, now who lost what?

Now what did we learn from this?

Since you brought it up. What's to stop you from misrepresenting what you received and keep both the money and the item? I've seen this happen before and I'm curious how the seller is protected in cases like this.
