Re: NEW! 82-92 Tachometer circuit boards
Hello,
I bought the tachometer circuit board fix from you back in Nov of 2017. The tachometer worked great until recently. When the car is started now, the tach needle barely moves. Is there a way to determine quickly if it is the circuit board or the tach that is the issue? I do not believe that I have the updated version with the LEDs installed. It is for a 1990 IROC-Z convertible. The item number I believe was 142457452416 and the transaction number was 5BM08872H31360602.
Any help would be appreciated.

Wootdog. Do you have an MSD or other aftermarket ignition system? Voltage spikes are not uncommon, but I install over-rated resistors to help avoid problems with voltage spikes.
What's your address? I will ship you a new one.
Thanks, Greg

Re: NEW! 82-92 Tachometer circuit boards
I have an 1989 Camaro IROC Z with the TPI 305 and AT. It's tach returns to 0 when off, but indicates MUCH higher RPM's than actual, when running. Sounds like I need your circuit board. I might swap the 305 for a 350, reusing the TPI and only changing the "PROM" in the ECU, fuel injectors and "Knock Sensor". Does any of this matter, to the way you construct the circuit board? Thanks.

Not yet, but i would like to have one to see if I can duplicate it. Would you be able to send me a picture of yours so I can get an idea of its complexity?
Thanks, Greg

Re: NEW! 82-92 Tachometer circuit boards
Just ordered one thru your website. Found out my tach is reading several hundred RPM high, did a quick forum search and what do ya know, here's the solution. It's nice to be able to support a small business like this, I'm actually kind of glad Dorman or some other company doesn't make this product. It's cool when someone figures out how to solve a problem and shares it with the rest of us.
