I want an autostick

I want an autostick in my 89 trans am. It has a automatic in it now, I'd prefer a manual, but I think it would be cheaper to try a manual valve body in the transmission thats already in it. I don't think the automatic is useing all the rpms my tpi 5.0 has to offer. It's a nice car it only has 67500 org. mi. so I don't want to slop it up I want to do it right and make it look nice. somebody give me some advice.

Heres some advice. you have a 5.0 tpi with a junk stock converter. Your motor might pull to 4500 on a good day with the TPI setup. You are simply starting in the wrong place.
