autostick?????

So I was lookin at some cars with autosticks today, I would think that the autosticks would just be sort of controlled by something like the TV cable would, You think that a 700R4 would be able to acheive a shift like that, with some sort of modifactions? Just a thought, like maybe an electronic gizmo or some variance in the valve bodys or something that would make it shift when you move it in to gear? Just a thought, maybe im just spending too much time in the sun.

I can't imagine it would be worth all the
mods you'd have to do to get it to work.
I also don't think there not worth it.My cousin
has one in his honda. It's just a gizmoe to
play with. You'd be better off getting a shift-
kit and doing it your self. They never upshift
at the moment youwant them to.If you could
get it to shift when you wanted it to regardless
of what was going on that would be great, but they
never do.It would be great on the track.

hey guys auto stick only is on cars with electronically controlled valve bodys, ie...those transmissions with shift solenoids instead of shift valves, the "genius" behind auto stick is actually making the customer believe that he can somehow shift an auto better than a well tuned tranny. It all goes along with "the appearance of performance" that alot of automakers are putting into their cars....prime example.....calling the new celica gts a sports car, its a corolla with a body kit, two doors and some nifty little look fast goodies....same goes for things like the matrix. Anyways...auto stick does have its good points, it doesnt allow idiots to grenade transmissions as much, being you cant electronically shift into reverse.....it WONT downshift until other conditions are met in the transmission allowing a safe and non destructive downshift, basically an auto shifter is a nice on/off switch. hehe i got one, if you have an electronically controlled tranny, go to radio shack....hehe you could fabricate one there.
