Re: WTB used T-5 5 speed tranny
$400,...... in Rhode Island.
I planned on using it in my 86 coupe ( pulled from that car ) but I saved it and used one I pulled from an 84 since the 86 has quicker gearing. It was painted red and has been in storage for about 6-7 months.
I never drove this car before pulling the drive train..... will not promise anything - BUT; for a $60 deposit ( on top of the price ) I'll bring it to the "Transmission Shop" in Coventry, RI ( 401-823 5169 ) and will have Doug open the case and inspect it. ( That's what I do before installing any stick I have not driven before installing it. ) That way if there's a problem you have only spent $60 and can walk away - or just pay the $400 "as is".
It's like this: The motor in the car was dead when I got it. I was told the tranny and POSI was good and have no reason to dispute that. ( The motor was swapped and the POSI IS good ) Since I never drove the car and I DO NOT make claims that I can't verify. I was saving the thing for myself believing it is good and will not sell it cheap since I don't mind sitting on it till my next project.
