A brand new 3" Magnaflow cat is smog legal, flows way better than OEM, and will run you under $80 on Jegs or Summit. That's what I have and it's AWESOME.

1. fit--i dont want to mess with custom fabrication right now
2. my hi flow cat failed instantly at an inspection for salvage title.(police auction car.....i need to get inspected to be street legal)
state highway police inspector looked under my t/a and told me FAIL......he said the car needs factory style cat for inspection......then after that he couldnt care
The officer said my cat looked like a race bullet muffler and didnt believe my summitracing.com order sheet

Mr. Toyota
I have a 700R4 Trans & Converter with 60,000 miles on it. $250.00 & you pay shipping.
I might have your Cat as well - new since 2005. not that many miles on it too.
Thx

Re: Looking for a 3" L98 cat UNGUTTED!
Im about to pull my hair out......my land-lord says the car needs to be plated or im out.........this means the car has to go though state salvage car inspection and i NEED a cat! Everyone that ive been able to contact has the either the wrong size, has been gutted out or simply hasnt gotten back with me
if i could get the damn cat i could make my car road worthy and get rid of my s10 and s10 blazer.......i dont want a pickup anymore to drive everyday and i cant afford a car outright until the trucks sell.........

Dude why would it matter if the cat was hollowed as long as it looked stock......... No way to tell the difference unless they feel like pulling it off, in which case I'd tell them to pound salt or pay for any damages that are incurred during removal.... IE. broken cat.

Heres what has happened:
1. i went down to get car inspected with gutted stock cat. As soon as the pulled car into the bay they smelled the exhaust had the "no cat smell". I tried saying it was race gas and they demanded it put on sniffer test. Guess what? It failed........
2. I go back after putting a HI-FLOW magnaflow cat on it and as soon as they put it on a lift they failed it. The officer was being a ***** to me and commented to me that "he remembered my car and what games im playing"
I tried fighting it but they failed me........hence why I NEED A STOCK UNGUTTED CAT!
Ive tried contacting everyone that has offered, but some reason or another they cant produce
The new direct replacement though summit racing is 145 dollars.......i know someone on this board has access to one and needs some spare money

Stock converters go for over 100 dollars at the scrap yard, go to a different smog check station and if the cops says it fails visual say BS, put it on the sniffer.

The other option you have is to stick the stock cat back on, then run the aftermarket cat behind it somewhere, you'll have the stock look plus it'll be catalyzed.
