i believe my old 2 series 2.77 is still good. worked great when i had it, has about 140K miles on it i think. you can try it.. i'll send it for 10 bucks plus the shipping

MAY beable to swap internals to fit the 3 series. You have to search but i believe internally they are the same

I have a damaged unit, not exactly sure whats wrong with it, its been sittin for 9 yrs, but it is salvageable i think. Can send pics.

 

They are EXPENSIVE to repair.. Allmost pointless.

Orr89RocZ - I think I will take you up on that offer. I think the spider gears are damaged in mine. If yours are ok I will just use them!

 

thats what happened to my 3 series, the spiders were broken and i thought about using the old carrier internals but wasnt sure if it would work. I believe it will tho but i ended up finding a mint 4th gen rear with better brakes and gears than i had so i swapped

If you want i can open up the carrier this weekend or sometime this week if i get time, and can ship you just the internals just to make it easier on you. Shipping cost would be much less that way

just a quick FYI, i swapped the spider gears from my old 2 series carrier to my current 3 series carrier that's in my firebird when i relized that i had grenaded the little x-thingy that the gears ride on. they've been holding up fine so far! (oh, i broke the rear when it was under my camaro, not my 260fwhp firebird)
