Speedometer Cable 2 piece (long)
I am looking for the long section of a two piece speedometer cable for a 1988 camaro. Any help would be appreciated.

I have one and I am in the Toronto area so shipping would be cheap or we can meet up.

The two piece cable is identical in function to the one piece cable, they're just a carry-over from the early cars that used a cruise control component in the middle of the cable.
Anyway, you can get a brand new AC Delco cable from Rock Auto for $40, or an aftermarket replacement for about $10. I can't imagine why you'd want to mess with a used cable when they're that cheap new.

Fantastic information thank you very much. No one in my area has it in stock, and want to charge me the cost plus 20% restocking if it is the wrong one.
So that I understand you correctly a one piece is the way to go? to be frank I was trying to avoid pulling the instrument cluster. Again great info, thank you.

Re: Speedometer Cable 2 piece (long)
I've replaced the two piece cable with the ATP one piece cable. It's really straight forward, at the transmission end just unscrew the cable, in the middle there's a clip anchored to the body with a 10mm bolt. Then remove the trim bezel around the gauges, and the cluster. You only need to pull the cluster forward a few inches and you'll see a black metal tab around the speedometer cable. Press that tab towards the cluster to release the cable, and the speedometer cable pulls straight out. The new one just snaps in. Bolt the anchor back to the frame rail, and screw it back into the transmission.

When I remove the 10 mm bolt and cover will I get trans fluid leaking out or does that area contain grease?
