Maybe this:

I pulled a like-new Astro Van steering shaft from a Pick'n'Pull earlier in the summer for $8.99. Nothing for the bearing and retainer. If you can wait....

Yes. Info about the Jeep and Astro Van shaft (post #7), as well as the bearing in the link below:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/susp...ing-shaft.html

The link below shows a Safari shaft that apparently is a direct bolt-in:

The GM part numbers are
bearing 7805700
adapter 7805822
Stateside those two parts will run you about $40.

Most Jeeps through the 80s/early 90s used GM columns...and aftermarket replacement bearings for Jeeps are readily available. Check on-line with a Jeep parts place...you need a Crown PN# 4487696K which is a complete kit that includes the bearing, adapter, and the retainer ring & clip. I used this kit on my 84 Z28. You can find them on ebay for as cheap as $10, although you will also see them for $45.

If you want a rubber boot to cover the bearing, get a Crown PN #8132676K.

Thanks man! That was a big help. I looked on quadratec where I get most of my jeep parts and those 2 crown parts can be had for 30 bucks.
