In Need Of Intermediate Lower Steering Shaft
Hello Third Gens,
I'm in need of a Intermediate Lower Steering Shaft in good working order. I found a new one on the classic industries website for $150 + Shipping but I can't afford that. I was hoping to get a used one for around $50. Please send me a PM if you can help.
Thanks

Re: In Need Of Intermediate Lower Steering Shaft
GO to the local junk yard and find a 1997 astro mini van the shaft will be incased in a rubber boot , take the shaft AND bearing , you will have to turn the end by the steering column 90 degrees then install the astro bearing in place of the nylon bushing in the end of the column . the shaft will fit rite on both sides . you will have to grind out the spot on the column shaft to allow the bolt to clear you can buy the whole thing for $10 (shaft and bearing) if you are not very mechanical and cant change a u-joint or are confused by what i've said , buy one that people are selling . pre modified bolt on . but make sure you tell them you want the astro shaft .make sure its been modified and try to get the bearing ,thats optional but makes a big difference. good luck.
