I blasted the surface rust off it and coated it with flat black engine paint. ( There's no "soft spots in the metal, it just had surface rust on it. ) If you don't like the red blower motor,.... it blasted too so simply spraying it with paint stripper, hosing it off and re-srpaying your favorite color will be all it takes to change color.
