Desperate search for brake caliper parts

Hey guys, I am in desperate search for two little pieces for the 89-92 rear brake calipers.I need at least two or better four of the little springs circled in red in the pics and at least one or better two of the tiny grub screw or set screw for setting the "free travel". I was able to get one of them out after one hour of trying but the other one is jammed like it is welded... even with heating and rusty penetrant... no way... so I have to drill it out and need a new one. Maybe here has a spare caliper or spare parts or core parts and can help me. There is absolutely NO WAY to get these parts here in germany. Thanks!

Re: Desperate search for brake caliper parts

Have you got a mailing address in the US where you can receive mail? or a broker that can act as a middle man? I've got a set of junk calipers (https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...-carriers.html) and some random hardware in the junk bin, but shipping international is always a quest of driving back and forth to the Post Office, asking which forms I need, taking the forms home, filling em out, packing up the item, taking it back to the Post Office, and inevitably "Oh you need to use this other form", rinse and repeat.

You might be further ahead to get a long set screw and drill/tap your caliper to match. There's no reason it has to be the specific screw PBR used.

Even in the US the 89-92 caliper is obsolete. Aside from a few refurbed calipers that come incomplete, and really basic service parts like the guide pins and some of the rubbers, none of the parking brake parts or hardware is available. In the last couple weeks it's become impossible to even find complete 89-92 calipers. The 93-97 calipers can't be far behind. Aside from refurbed calipers you still can't get any of the small parts.

Re: Desperate search for brake caliper parts

Did a little digging... The set screw seems to be an off the shelf extended tip set screw. Looks to me like they're 6mm, 16mm long with a 4mm tip. Local hardware has them in steel, stainless, etc. Only catch is they sell them in a minimum qty of 50 screws.

While it's possible the springs aren't application specific, I haven't found a generic replacement for them.

Re: Desperate search for brake caliper parts

Thank you Drew, sorry for the late answer, was very busy. I was at least able to remove the goddamn set screw with an induction heater and endless patience. I can buy this indeed locally, it is just an M6x16mm screw, no problem on that side. I have a local hardware store where I can buy just one or two of them and don't need to take 50 or more.
I know that international shipping is a PITA, from germany to the US is even more complex, trust me... I was also able to remove the four little springs from both calipers with endless patience... two of them are good, the other two are stretched out at some points because they were absolutely stuck. So I need only two springs now. Are you willing to put two of them in an air cushioned envelope and send it to me? Maybe a letter is easier to ship than a package?

J.C. Work your business out with Drew, he can send them to me and I'll send them to you for the shipping cost. I've done the international paperwork at the PO many times, so no issues for me to assist you.
