If you have your old one still, cut it in half at the top glue seam and fill it with new charcoal then re glue or plastic weld. I did this a few months ago and it worked really well.

The canister works fine, but one of the nipples broke off and is replaced with an ugly piece of fuel line. Just seeing if I can find a new one on the cheap, doesn't even have to be in great condition since I just need the top part.
