I am in need of the before mentioned ECU. I'll pay all shipping expenses to Decatur Alabama. Thank you!

I have a unit ... not idea if it has port mod. I can send along whatever photos of the unit if that helps. Drop me a PM if you need.

So had a closer look ... I have EBL FLASH ... so best for TBI as I understand. If anyone needs this drop me a PM.

That's the same unit I already have (EBL flash ll w/o port mod). I'm being told it will run 6 port style injectors, and the port mod was used in order to run 8 injectors. I'm still going to look for one that has the port mod. Thank you for your response.

Hmm ... curious what the port mod was. I've run a 165 and 7730 with TBI injectors. I had to add a resistor to make it look the same as the bank of port injectors. We ran it for a long while like that. The tuning took some extra work as to how the injector flowed (peak and hold vs. ). At that time, I just used a wideband and tuned it for the numbers.

Id guess you could do it the otherway ... not sure the driver on the circuit board will work or not. The resistance is 13 ohms vs. a TBI which is only 3-4 if I recall.

So get this ... when I tested the theory out I used a the dash dimming dial from a Trans Am since it handles higher load. I'd just turned it until the spray pattern improved. Then measured it. If you do the math, it did work out.

Anyways ... just stories from the uneducated garage of making chit work.

This is good stuff though. If you were in a bind and didn't have a way to scale back the flow (electronic tuning) that seems like a legit way of utilizing bigger injectors. But yeah I've read so through so much material on here and elsewhere. I think my original ECU was a 7747 run of the mill TBI ECU. Then I hear about the 7730 being used when going to a port style injector because that's what it was made for. Then someone will pup up and say they been running an mpi big block big cam with a 7747 with no issues. I know the EBL is it's own tech but what is it based off of? 7747? 7730? Will it run 6 port injectors just fine but can't run 8 w/o his (RBob's) proprietary port mod? As you can see from my posts I'm still super new to tuning but I know enough to get myself in trouble, and that's what I'm trying to avoid. I should be ready to run it in the next month and I'll report back. I do like the idea of that dimming dial just in case becomes a nightmare.

For me ... it was try what I have and see what works. The 165 and 7730 were more familiar for me to work with and the only issue seemed to be the resistance of the injectors so I made them "appear" the same. And it works ... but don't know really how well or what longer term issues would be.

You can use 12p code with the 165 and get a MAP solution. Or repin and go to the 7730 (which has better code to work with).
