305tbi to 350tpi Qustion

Ok i have a 89 RS TBI that has way to many miles on it. I also have a 91 Z28 with a 350 in it that was wrecked about a year ago. What would I need to do to drop the 350 into the 89 RS. Oh yeah the 350 in the Z28 has 40,000 miles on it and ran perfect before the accident .

Any info would be helpfull.

I could have sworn somebody just asked this in the last couple of days, but can't find it now.

Anyway...

All the engine harnessing, computer, sensors, throttle/TV/cruise cables, in-tank fuel pump. It's good you have both cars - if something looks different between the two, change it. Which tranny you use is up to you, but the '91 with low mileage (and some improvements the '89 doesn't have) would make sense. The '91 also may have better rear gears, but whichever you use, keep the speedo gears that were with it.

Does the '91 have VATS? That could make things interesting, but again, change whatever's different.

Does the '91 have electronic speedo and the '89 doesn't? Another "interesting" issue. Perhaps just change out the dash, harnesses and all.

It would be easier to just use the long block from the 350 and keep the tbi setup. Just my $00.2. Later
