I am in the process if buying a 85 z28 (i hope it's a z28) 5 speed. the guy told me it is a 350 but not the original how would i find out what size the motor is in there before i find out it's not a 350 and more like a 305. thanks.

Your best bet would be to get the casting number off of the block. It's located on the upper driver's side of the bell housing mount. Check that against www.mortec.com, and you should have a fairly good idea what it is.
