pre 86 350 swap

well... my 350 is finally en rout. Its a pre 86 crate for around 1300 plus 180 for doorstep delivery from a chevy dealer. Heres a link to the motor on another site.

The setup i have now is a 305 tbi. I know i need to get a flexplate for a two piece and a new intake. What about all the sensors and what not from the 305, will all of those fit onto the older 350 block and heads? I hear that in order to use the newer serpintine belt line i can just drill and tap new acc. bolt holes to get it all to bolt up. I assume there is enough material there to do this so am i correct? Anything else im missing?

I just finished installing my new engine into my 92 today and the only things i had to do thus far was to enlongate two holes on the stock acc. brackets. I am reusing the factory serp belt setup from my 305 TPI set up. My new engine is an 80 block with a 71 TH350. All my original sensors have gone on to the older block without a problem so far.

I couldnt get my oil pressure sender to hook up in the older block, then, when I finally rigged up an adapter to make it work,it hit the dist. I was forced to go with a seperate gauge unfortunatley.

I was able to use my stock serp. setup from my 89TBI, I just left 1 bolt out, cuz there was no hole.

Should be. I've got that engine in my van, the mounting surface in the casting appears to be the same.
