vaccum advance or no.
i just picked up an 85 z28 5 speed about a week ago. it has a 350ci in it. (yes i know it was replaced) my question is it has in it now a hei dist. with w/o vaccum advance i have a dist. laying around with the vaccum advance. i heard it was better for the street is this tru? or would i gain nothing from putting it in?

Vacuum advance is for non computer controlled ignition systems. You need the vacuum advance for part throttle operation under load. The newer computer controlled ignitions have the computer adjust how much timing the engine needs.
