need to know what parts i need
need to know what parts i need
ok, here goes...i've decided to switch to a carburetor on my 305 TPI.....i need to know what parts i need to buy.......FYI, i intend to keep my electric fuel pump.......and probably need a little wiring advice too...radiator fans for example which are computer controlled......i've become very tired of computer problems on this thing.....time to go back to the basics
i'd stick with the tpi on the 305 if it were me. its gonna be expensive but if you sell all your tpi stuf, theres a few hundred bucks you didnt have before. its up to you, but as far as parts, i've never delt with a carb swap before. sorry, someone help him out please....

Carb.
Fuel pressure regulator, or mechanical fuel pump (and push rod for mechanical pump).
Air cleaner.
Intake manifold & gaskets.
Distibutor (non-CC, also called vacuum/mechanical advance), cap, rotor, coil, and probably spark plug wires.
Thermostat housing.
Upper radiator hose.
Misc. wires, splices, terminals, & tape to hook up distributor power and choke.
Misc. tubing & fittings to hook up fuel regulator/mechanical fuel pump, PCV valve, & heater. And bypass the in-tank fuel pump if you go with a mechanical and drop the fuel tank to remove the in-tank pump.
Torque converter lock-up switch (if auto tranny).
A slush fund to bribe emissions testing station.
