Looking into a New Engine, need some help.
I already have the tranny picked out but now I am wondering what engine I should be looking into. I want to get rid of this 305 and this TBI and swap in something mean. I went to GMPP website and there blocks seem a little expensive for the hp/tq they put out. Then I found this site.

If you guys had to choose one of those engines under 3500.00 which one would u choose? I am thinking about that 383/410hp w/ the 20hp upgrade with this cam. It seems like a good deal for 3200.00 with everything but u guys tell me. I want to make sure I get a good engine.

So the 305TBI didn't break into the low 15s last Saturday, eh!?! NJ's traction advice not enough, so you're punting... Welcome aboard!
Go with the most engine you can afford... then go one size bigger. You'll never regret that you did straight off the bat. Deffinately get the cam upgrade and get rid of the TBI...
