461 Heads Situation

I took out the bolts where the machine shop tap the accessory hole and notice that they were drill into the water jackets. will this start a leak or is this noprmal when you have heads tap for bolts. I know people will say get so other heads and dont chance it with this. but I just need some good advice not criticism on what type of problem I would run into with these heads if any.

Thanks:

5-7kid once told me the material was to thin just to tap...I guess they needed to add some metal to the head..I would take them back and say WTF?
Did they tell you this might happen?

Couldn't a bit of thread sealant on the bolts solve your problem?
I don't know, I've never run into that problem.

Thats what in praying will take care of it. I install with some Teflon Tape and Red Lock Tight Sealant. We Will See...

I had a problem like this when I broke one of my intake bolts, I drilled the bolt out but went to far and drilled in to a water jacket, I just put black RTV sealer on the bolt and it hasn't leaked yet.

Many of the head bolts go into the water jackets in the block. Thread sealer is recommended on head bolts so that they don't leak so some on the bracket bolts should work fine.

Don't forget if you ever have to remove the accessory bracket, the coolent will have to be drained.
