i have an 86 z28. it had the 305 with a 4bbl rochester and 5speed.
i just swapped in a 350 out of a 89-90 corvette and hooked it up to carb and electronics from the 305. i replaced all the sensors.
the engine runs and all the electronics work however i cant get the damn thing timed correctly. the distributor is electronically advanced so when i do the timming i have to disconnect the 4prong plug going to the distributor. if any one has any ideas how to get my car timed or knows what the timming should be set at for the corvette engine i would really appreciate it. write back through the message boards or directly to me at goyankees13@cs.com

do you have the l98 distributor or the 305 distributor? to time the l98 you unplug the est and set base timing at 6*. are you running the l98 harness, ecm, and prom?

 

im using the 305 distributor and the 305 harness and computer. nothing that came on the 350 was used except the block and heads and guts.
it dosent want to run well when i put it on 6b it idels too low. i have it at 10b and it idels at 700-750 rpm
