Post Swap Questions

Just a few post 305->350 swap questions:
1)Shift points-even if the shifter is in first, the tranny shifts from first to second just above 5200 rpm. I want to stay in first until 6000. Can this be adjusted? If so, is it hard (expensive) to have adjusted?

2)Cooling-The 350 runs significantly hotter than the 305. Is this due to the fan's inability to cool the rad fast enough? If I hooked it up so the fan was always running would this be enough to keep it cool.

3)Headers - It seems like the headers give off a lot of heat into the car when the vents are open. Is this a normal characteristic of headers. It is almost unbearably hot in the car, even at night.

Any help is appriciated.
