1984 15th anniversary TA with Turbo T engine
Does anyone own a 15th anniversary Trans Am with Buick 3.8 Turbo swapped in it? I understand what's needed for the swap. I already have le Sabre Heads to clear the AC box and looking to buy a 1985 HOT Air TType engine with computer/ harness and 200r4 trans. Obviously custom headers are needed, sphoon trans crossmember, motor mounts, and the engine would have to be rebuilt with pistons suited for the LeSabre heads. I'm also thinking of buying the TA from down the street for $1200
Would this be a good combination for a Homemade TTA? It should perform almost as well as a stock TTA. It would be nice for a 15th TA to have performance it should of had in the first place
If anyone has pics please post them,
Thank you.
Ed

Go over to http://www.gnttype.org there is a guy there selling the headers for $300. His stock heads are going for $100.

number one DO NOT go with a hot air motor, trying to mod that is like modding a LO3...it just doesn't make sense..
if you want to ditch the AC go with a GN longblock, you can use the headers and crossover pipe, but you'll need a custom downpipe made...
You'll need to grab a TTA intercooler scoop since the GN one sits too low, also you'll need to either fab up spacers or find TTA sway bar mounts, they sit a bit lower to clear the intercool scoop, i have no front sway bar for that very reason, not sure what i'm doing yet...
