LT1 in a 3rd gen?
Does it just bolt right in? I'd also be putting in a 4L60E
Anything special I'd need to get and/or do?
Also, I'd like some info on the 4L60E vs the 700R4.
I hear that if I used the 700R4 I'd have to manually shift it. Is this true? If it is I'll be going 4L60E lol

You don't have to manually shift a 700r4. I don't know much about the 4L60. When you manually shift the 700r4 it can be a violent ride, then when you put it in drive it acts normal.
I think my fav is the th350 though.
