Not that I can actaully do this anytime soon- but maybe if I'm stuck with the car a few years (it will be parked) I'll get her painted and do something about that lethargic POS under the hood.
Wonder about the length though- but it's 100hp more and 20lbs. Be pretty cool eh? Make it a 5spd

it's called hotroding
Quite a few people swapped 3.8 tirbos in Camaros- this would be a cool idea- extremely unique. It's one of GM's most advnaced engines-
featuring variable valve timing.

I don't exactly know if I would call running a straight 6 in a thirdgen hotrodding, but that's my opinion. If you're shooting for originality, then that's what you'll have for sure.

The inline six utilizes a 360* bellhousing, so you would need an adaptor to put the D-bolt TH700-R4 to it.
The electronics to operate the variable valve timing are very complicated, and would be a difficult swap until an aftermarket company like Painless steps in and clears a few things up.
The deep sump oil pan is a potential problem because of the F-Bodies crossmember. It may interfere.

I saw a straight 6 in a 84 or so t/a in the junkyard last year, it was the strangest thing I have ever seen. My buddy and I were walking past it, stopped, went back, and said WTF? Anything is possible with enough time and money.
