305 for 2.8

I am currently working on a 1984 camaro that had a 2.8 v6 in it but that engine was toasted pretty well and is now gone. Now i have a carburated 305 to put in it. i have talked to my brother about it and he says i need motor the mounts on the car moved to accomidate the v8 i was wondering are the motor mounts the same for the v6 and v8 and i just need to move them or do i need new motor mounts. thanks for any info that will help me.

You will need the v8 mounts(available at any auto parts store) and you need to use the furthest forward holes in the frame .

The motor mounts you get from the parts store will only be the halves that bolt to the crossmember. The parts that bolt to the engine are different than the V6 parts, and typically are not available from parts stores (last I heard anyone say something about it, getting them from the dealer isn't too hopeful, either).

Bone yard time.

BTW, if you're getting new frame-side motor mounts, go for the poly type while you're at it.

do you mean polyurothane as opposed to the stock rubber ones? i suppose that would be a good idea. thank you for the advise.i have some other stuff to get from the boneyard any how so i guess i will just pick up the engine side mounts while i am there.
