Water pump
Will the water pump from a 305 work on a 350? Also is there any way to get a crate 350 with forged pistons? If not what all has to be done to a crate 350 to put the forged pistons in? I mean can I tear it down and replace them without having to take it to a machine shop so they can check clearance and all that bs? I ask this because I'm interested in putting a supercharger on and I hear you should at least have forged pistons, if none of that is true then I'm not gunna bother going for forged.

Water pumps are the same.
Changing the pistons is gonna void any warranty the crate engine has. I dont think forged are a requirement, but it kinda depends on what sort of power level you are trying to get to as well. Theres quite a few supercharged cars running around on stock pistons, just need to keep detonation away and you'll be fine.

Shoo, detonation, shoo, go away, there your safe now...
But to actualy answer your guestions,
In the latest Performance Power Catalog none of the new crate engines use forged pistons. there are a couple with high silicone AL, and some even offering offset piston pins. The 12496769 looks kinda neat but it's 9.6:1. If you keep the boost down and get clever with the tune, you might have lots of fun with that. The 12497317 uses high silicon pistons without the offset pins and is 9.1:1
The first number I quoted uses the 4298, while the later the Vortec.
If you read up some on chamber designs the vortec inheritantly are less prone to detoantion then conventional heads.
The down side to the S/C T/C SBC is that there is no real fuse in the system. On other engines they usually blow headgaskets where a SBC tends to drive over it's crank when things let loose.
generally even 4-5 PSI of boost makes for a fun ride.
There are lots of turbo buicks running 11s on cast pistons, and they have really small combustions chambers ie 38cc
While specific to T/Cs Corky Bells book Max Boost and Hugh MuInnes's book Turbocharging make great reading material for getting into T/C S/C engine design and theory.
BTW, the calatlog part no is 88960248 and is 6.95
Cheers
