350 buildup
it's not exactly related to thirdgen but I need to know how much power this engine would approx. do I want to build a TPI Malibu.
so that's what I was thinking considering the parts I can get for pennies !
79 4-bolt main block, freshly rebuild +.030 over
Silv-O-Lite SB-Chevy Hypereutectic Pistons
461 heads with 1.94 and 1.50 exaust.
292 Comp Cam (not sure yet but I can get it for real good deal)
Ported TPI with 900 cfm SLP trottle body, 22# injectors as well a ported intake manifold.
late 89 serpentine setup.
I don't know yet which rod, lifters and rockers i'll use but it will not be a roller engine.
Can someone tell me approx. how much power that engine could
make. Also if some of these parts are not compatible .

461 heads are not compatible with late-model brackets. Not a big deal though if you don't care whether you have an alternator or PS.
THat cam isnot compatible with TPI. It's altogether too much, it moves the power band up beyond TPI's "tuned" peak, into the range where TPI "anti-tunes" flow. You end up with the inherent deficiencies of TPI killing upper RPM performance, and the inherent lack of low end torque from the cam. No power at any RPM. I would bet that combo would go slower than a stock L98.
