I need some advice please.

I Have a 1990 Trans Am GTA with a 305, T-tops, Koni Sport struts and shocks, Hooker Cat-back exhaust. Now I am looking to upgrade the engine.
I realize that doing up a 305 is rather pointless. I have a couple thoughts on what I would like to run but I am open to any ideas. I Had though about putting a 350 in, but since I an going to swap the motor out and do all that work I have decided to go bigger. I am thinking about a small block 400; However a 327 seems apealing as well. I would rather not go with a big block because of the weight issues, and I would like to keep some kind of EFI setup.
I am looking to get about 350hp, so I understand that before I swap my new engine in I will need subframe connectors and a strut tower brace.
Any advice anyone could give me would be very much appreciated.

In case you didnt notice, a 327 is smaller than a 350. Theres no point in building a 327 really, unless you happen to come across one cheap and cant find a 350. You could make 350hp at the crank with a 350, but of course that would be easier with a 400. Its more a matter of if 350hp will be enough or not. If you are like anyone else around here, it wont be
If you can find a 400, do it.

There's no replacement for displacement. Go with the 400, or build a 383 if you can't find a good 400 block.

Excellent! Thank you very much for your help. Now I just need to find the right intake heads and cam, but there lies most of the expenses.
Would my stock '90 305 TPI intake work untill I can afford a new one? Or what intake would you recommend?
I also read somewhere that 350 heads would be decent cheap heads for now?
And I am not even going to pretend that I know what I am talking about regarding a cam, I just have no clue waht cam is going to work best with what I am going to have. It might help if I new what I was going to do as well =); However if someone could recommend a fairly lumpy cam, that wont destroy my gas mileage I would appreciate it very much. Thanks!
