put a 92 305 TBI in my 89 RS now it won't turn over
Just finished my engine swap, 92 305 TBI into an 89 RS and now the car won't even turn over. I used the wiring harness from the 92 and used the computer, had to repin the C-100 connector.
I checked all the fuses and double checked all the wiring, I even jumpered the starter to make sure it works (it does). Now I don't know where to look, Help!!
If anyone has a COMPLETE wiring diagram (not hanes) of an 89 RS and a 92 RS I would appreciate it. I am looking for one that shows where all the wires run to include all connectors, to include (the C-100) and relays ect... and locations.
Where is the starter enable relay??
if anyone has done this swap and can tell me what they did to get it running I would appreciate it?
Thanks
John

OK here is the deal for everyone that is putting a 91+ wiring harness and computer in their car...
I picked up two camaro RS's cheap I decided to swap engines in them, my 92 RS had a 305 TBI in it and my 89 had a 350 TPI in it (yes, someone else put the TPI in it). Since I am going to keep the 92 for the long run I decided to put the 350 TPI in it. So doing the swap I need both cars running in the end.
now as for the starting problem I found out what it was, There is a connector that is part of the harness that goes inside the car that doesn't go to the computer (this other connector is the C-207) well on the 89 pin M I believe is a ground for the starter enable relay and on the 92 pin M is power for the hood light. So on the 89 if you don't ground this wire you can't start the car. I left it connected and cut the connector for the hood light off and grounded the wire to a good ground. (car starts now). On the 92 if you leave the M pin connected your going to keep blowing the "ACC" fuse. I just disconnected it alltogether.
I will post everything I had to do to make both cars work properly but I am still working out some issues. When I figure them out I will post what needs to be done.
As for my current problems, in both cars I cannot get the fans to turn on when they should, I have no "High" on my heat/AC (also on both cars), and my battery gauge reads 12 volts (on both cars) with the altinator charging. I know its charging because I have been driving th 92 around for over 2weeks and if it wasn't working then the car would have died along time ago.
When I figure these problems out I will post what I did and if any one can be of assistance I would greatly appreciate it. Also if anyone has the wiring diagrams I asked for earlier I would really appreciate it.
I want to thank 91 RS (previous topics) for his help and anyone else that assisted, your posts have pulled me out of the dark on more than one occasion.
Thanks
John
