ok this is my first firebird and my first true project car. The finished product will be an 1987 bird with a 305 motor and a t5 tranny. i have a 1983 bird as a parts car with the 2.8l and its where the t5 is coming from. i've heard both ways that this tranny will bolt up or it wont because the 2.8 is at 60 degrees and the 305 is at 90 now which of those is true. also i am going to rebuild the 305 what are some decent performance mods that i can do. i do not really plan on actually taking the car to the strip i just want a fun car to cruise around in on the weekends but if by chance a weak lil mustang pulls up i can take him. any and everybodys suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

 

from what i understand you cant use the trans from the v6 on a v8. and if your do all this work you should get a 350 or a 400.
