Bigger V6
I have a 3.1 V6 in my 90 bird it has about 160K miles on it i was wondering if i getter a bigger v6 like a 4.3 will my car still pass california smog? or do i have to go to DMV and do something special with them for it to pass?

4.3 won't fit without relocating the motor mounts and you'd need a v8 transmission to bolt to it. not sure on cali smog laws but doesn't the engine have to of came in the car originally?

You would probably be able to sneak a 3.4 by the Smog *****. Make sure there aren't any 3.4l stickers on it anywhere.
There are "issues". Oil pan different, for one. But, the SPFI should bolt on with no problems.
